Virtual Environments - I followed the instructions in the course to register and launch the virtual sessions. I still show no sessions to launch, Do I need to wait for a period of time for them to be set up?
You should see the "VLE Access - Configuring a Simple PI System" appear on your list of available subscriptions immediately after registering for it (this item). The only time you need to wait is while the machines are provisioning, but you should still be able to see them throughout this time.
I looked at your registration and it appears that your SSO account didn't come through, which is what links registrations to a particular person.
I've modified your account on the back end. Can you please try registering for the VLE Access again? I apologize for this inconvenience. Please let me know if you can successfully access the VLE this time!
Tried again still no listed sessions.
I have logged in, and out, refreshed - still see no sessions.
Can you please check https://learning.osisoft.com/Labs/Subscriptions one more time? (No need to re-register).
I got 1 for the VLE for Course and about 40 entries for "Monthly"
Excellent; sorry about that, Scott! All you need to do now is expand the item for the online course and click "Launch"! Then your VMs will create themselves and you should be good to go.
Sent from my Android phone using TouchDown (www.symantec.com)
I too am having problems getting the VLE access. I click on the plus sign and when I click the cart to check out there are no items. I tried to register for the course as well same result, nothing in my cart.
I've never seen that before but it sounds like a problem much lager than the VLE; I'm bringing it up with our learning.osisoft.com website administrators now.
In the meantime, I've manually added the online course VLE to your account. Can you check to see if the online course VLE appears here - https://learning.osisoft.com/Labs/Subscriptions when you're logged in to your SSO account (top right corner of page).
Yes, it is there, but I cannot launch it. It must be restricted through our IT department. I will try again from home tonight and see if my results are better. Thanks for your help.
It does look like your machines have launched; perhaps you're just blocked from clicking the links within a page? Do you see anything on the My Sessions page - https://learning.osisoft.com/Labs/MySessions
I will also e-mail you the remote desktop connection links for your machines to see if you can connect that way. Unfortunately this is where you're most likely to be restricted by your IT department (usually firewall limitations). If this is the case, you'll need to either work with you IT department (details on the requirements are here under Virtual Learning Environment > What are the system requirements) or work on the course when not on your corporate network.
Yes, my virtual machines have started. I cannot connect ... blocked by IT is my guess. I will try at home this evening. Thanks again for all your help! :-)
I have the same problem as Scott, I see nothing under My Subscription.
Did you register for the separate item for virtual learning environment? Instructions for this were in the PDF file attached to yesterday's introductory email message. Please let me know if you like me to send the instructions again.
The VLE is a separate registration from the facilitated session of the online course you registered for.
As Chuck mentioned, there were instructions attached to the e-mail he sent out yesterday. Essentially you need to register for this item VLE Access - Configuring a Simple PI System Online Course
I performed the registration as the PDF instructions yesterday, got the email confirmation but still nothing under My Subscription. I suspect I have the very same problem as Scott which required you to do something on the VLE side to fix it.
I'm sorry I doubted you! Can you please check https://learning.osisoft.com/Labs/Subscriptions now?
The VLE seems to have a personal vendetta against OSIsoft employees trying to join our classes!
The sample size is not very big but it surely feels surely like it :-)
VMs now up and running, thanks!
