    Netmask in PI Trusts

I know  a networking question, but when setting up the trust the IP is with a mask of but when the instructor enters the mask in the section of trusts he uses  Will the work?  Why not use the mask of the system.

Scott - a common question.  We maybe should have changed the item name to something else?  The mask is not used for subnetting in this case.  Rather the mask is exclusive or'ed with the incoming address for comparison purpose for authentication.  For example, a mask of allows a single incoming address to pass.  A mask of allows any of 256 addresses to pass.  For our purposes, we are trying to grant authentication to a single node at a particular address, hence a mask of is the proper setting.
