Hello all, is there a way to solve this popping up on clicking a button to dispay another PI Processbook from coming up...
you would have to make sure the server your Processbook elements request data from are available and registered in the Known Servers Table of this client machine. Please also refer to this documentation:
Thanks for the response. We upgraded to a new PI Server, so the PI Processbook still sees the old server. Is there a way to stop this from popping up...
Thank you for sharing your questions in PI Square.
If you make any minor change on the display and save it, does the message appear again the next time you open the display? What if you save it as a new display?
If none of those work, as a workaround you could create an alias in About PI SDK associating the server number that cannot be found to the PI Server that I would like to use in the display:
Please, let us know if this solution is suitable for you.
Will this be done in the PI server end?
I believe you should do it on the client machine where you are running PI ProcessBook. At least this is how I have tested it.
There is an alias. See attached.
As I see there is no Alias for the number you are seeing in your error ("49708"):
Then you can add a new alias with that number as the "Server Alias" and your PI Data Archive's Name as the "Server Name".
Please, let me know if you have any comment or question.
what will be the Alias name.
In the Alias field you should write the number that you see in the error in Processbook (49708) and in the Server field you should write the name (or IP address) of your PI Data Archive:
Thanks it worked. What if I want to apply this for a Global Processbook thats seen by all in a company. Should this be done at the server PI SDK?
I have just tested it and I believe it should be done on every machine where the display will be used. Adding the Alias in PI SDK on the machine where the PI Data Archive is installed only makes effect on that machine and not on the rest of the machines in the PI System.
