Detecting AFSDK/AF Client Installation and Version

I didn't find a specific post regarding this topic, but I was wondering what is the best way to determine the version of AFSDK (or AF Client) installed on a customer computer?  We will be using AFSDK in our product and need to have our installer detect which version is installed so we can ensure the minimum version meets our requirements.  Previously when checking for PISDK versions, we looked up this key in the registry "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\PI-SDK | DisplayVersion", but AFSDK does not seem to have an equivalent.  Has anyone else tried this?
