I have configured some of perfmon tags from remote client. after configuration, I found all the Perfmon tags pointing to the server showing as IO Timeout.
Kindly suggest some ideas.
Please take a look at KB01588 and check if any of the cases apply.
In my experience, Case 1 is particularly common. Please verify that the user running the Perfmon interface belongs to the Performance Monitor Users group on the machine being monitored.
Let us know if this helps!
As case 1. I have considerd as LocalSystem only. but why it's not showing the value..
but still i unable to collect value.
Is the Perfmon interface running on the same machine that's being monitored? If not, you'll need to add the interface machine to the Performance Monitor Users group on the machine that's being monitored.
Also, did you take a look at the other cases in the KB article I linked to?
Ya that's in same machine..
I have tried remaining cases also.. all the cases are looking fine..
In addition to Michael's advice, the Perfmon Basic interface has limitations:
The basic version executable of the interface is appended by “_basic”. The basic version has these characteristics:
· Must run on the machine with the PI Server.
· Will collect data for a maximum of 512 points.
· Allows one instance of the interface.
· Will collect data for local performance counters only
· Default point source of #
In your original response you used the word "remote". Is that the issue here?!
Issue is with local pi server... Actually I tried to create two perfmon tags by connecting the server in performance counter remotely.. once I have done the creation...remaing tags got io timeout... So I have restarted perfmon which available in local pi server. But it's not affected.
At this point, I would recommend contacting tech support so we can look at your config, logs, etc... That will allow us to resolve it more quickly.
