Can you help for pi af upgrade from 2014 to 2015?
Could You be more specific about the issue or Your question about the upgrade process??
1) Take backup of SQL DB
2) Export all of the DBs from the AF 2014 machine via XML.
Note: Run your export from the Library view and be sure “All Referenced Objects” is checked.
3) Upgrade the system to AF 2015.
Note: See PI AF Installation and Upgrade (https://livelibrary.osisoft.com/LiveLibrary/content/en/server-v7/GUID-CF854B20-29C7-4A5A-A303-922B74CE03C6)
I would recommend first testing that the XML import/export from your AF 2015 node yields the expected results.
What about Event frames, any special step needed after the upgrade for event frames?
The analysis service will perform an auto recovery upon restart but you can always go to the management/analysis tab in PI System Explorer and perform the backfilling from there.
One small note on this, the auto recovery is up to 72 hours. In the event the analysis service is down for more than 72 hours you will need to perform the backfill manually.
You can find the PI AF Upgrade guide on LiveLibrary which will guide you through the upgrade process.
Out of curiosity, why aren't you upgrading to a more recent version like 2016 R2 or 2017? There are many advantages of upgrading to the most recent version.
For example, the PI Analysis Service is much better in the 2016 R2 and 2017 version than the 2015 version.
we got approval only to upgrade in PI AF 2015 Server.
