Using Vision, Processbook or even Datalink: what is the best way to use a string type valve tag with values of "open" & "closed" in order to show a multistate valve symbol with red for "closed" and green for "open"?
Couple of options....
A. Use an analysis in AF that checks for "open" "closed" etc. in the string then writes that out to an AF attribute which has the valve states in an enumeration set, and set your multistate using that attribute instead.
B. Create an event based PE tag that converts the string value to a digital state. Use this tag instead.
C. Convert the string tag to a digital tag. Any particular reason why its string?
If this is a digital state tag, you can do this in both ProcessBook and PI Vision without any other configuration.
Keilan Knight, Do you know of ways can I do without changing config of the source tag or without having to configure attributes?
