I need to make some PI points that accumulate run time for various pieces of equipment over long periods of time. I originally wrote: TIMEGT( 'XXXX' , '14-AUG-17' , '*', 5.0 ) / 3600 which worked just fine for quite a while, but I have found that after around 700 to 800 hours this calculation breaks down. I think the number of seconds just gets too big. What I would like to do it alter this equation to calculate run time for each 24 hour period and then transfer the total every day to another point that just has to remember the number of hours. However, I'm not sure how to do that. How do I write a point that grabs the value of another point and adds it to the previous value at a certain time every day? Or, if anyone has a better idea on how to do this, I'm all ears. Thank you.

Hi David,

I do something similar to create a running total of cooling and heating degree days. For your case, maybe something like what I've done below would work. I've added in an auto-reset for the rollover to a new year.

Hope this helps!
