we have following client in network manager statistics and trying to find out what causes to this connection,
we know from which host it's coming from but why and how?
AF Client PIANOHost AF PI Point Data Reference (PI SDK)
This is a connection from the Notifications Service, 2012 or earlier.
How its connecting to pi server, we don't expect it should use this pi server,
Maybe there is somewhere record pointing to this server in AF DB?
If it is configured as a history server for Notifications, then there is an attribute in the AF Configuration database at \OSIsoft\PIANO|HistoryServer with the PI Data Archive name. If the connection is due to an attribute it could be anywhere. Note there are things like aliases in the KST configuration that affect how the name in the database resolves.
In Notifications Service 2012 or earlier, each notification's history was tracked via 7 PI points. That is why it is trying to use the PI Data Archive server.
In Notifications Service 2016 or later, each notifications history is tracked via attributes on an event frame.
