Is there a feature in PI Vision where a display can be exported or "Save As" in a .PDF file format?
The only way I'm aware of doing this is to print the display to a .pdf using the print functionality of your browser.
Yes, that offcourse can be done. But I was wondering if there's a way by which we can export the displays to PDF format. May be something to customize ;-)
What would you like to do with the PDFs such that printing them with the browser is not sufficient? Are you looking to do some kind of edits?
The business case would be something like Vision displays (PI Data, Static) which needs to be merged with a .Csv file (user can change values) and then export that as .pdf format. I see that we already have an "Export" as ".xml". Can that be extended to .pdf?
Currently, export to XML and CSV displays the time series data for the data items on the display. Your idea can be suggested with the widget available within PI vision itself. You can include what you would like to see in a pdf export such as whether you want to see a snapshot of the page or time series data similar to the XML and CSV exports.
