I have the following error when i tried to create a link server between PI server and an SQL server using an sql login.
PISDK :registry item not found in the collection (sql error:7303)
Any idea ?
Can you confirm that the value in your 'Data Source' field is the name of the PI Data Archive server, as it appears in the PI-SDK Connection Manager list of known servers?
Could you please check the PI SDK version installed and KB article : KB00598 -PI SDK may fail to connect when initialized by an impersonated remote user. As @John Messinger suggested requested to check the known server table (KST) in PISDK if PI Data Archive Server mentioned in PI SDK is same as PI OLEDB configuration. If it is not reachable request you to check PI Server with Fully Qualifieid Domain Name(FQDN).
Thanks for your answer .
PI SDK version is : 1.4.4
When i put Windows Authentification (Integrated Security=SSPI) in providerstring , I don’t have the issue .
But I can’t check the connection in I used sql login .
How do you expect a SQL login to map to something that can authenticate to a Data Archive? Are you hoping to use explicit logins to the Data Archive?
Yes, looks like PI archive security settings are set to "Disable Explicit Login". James to confirm on the same.
