I have the following error when i tried to create a link server between PI server and an SQL server using an sql login.
PISDK :registry item not found in the collection (sql error:7303)
Any idea ?
Could you please check the PI SDK version installed and KB article : KB00598 -PI SDK may fail to connect when initialized by an impersonated remote user. As @John Messinger suggested requested to check the known server table (KST) in PISDK if PI Data Archive Server mentioned in PI SDK is same as PI OLEDB configuration. If it is not reachable request you to check PI Server with Fully Qualifieid Domain Name(FQDN).
If this PI Server is for factory talk historian you HAVE TO BUY the Historian OLEDB Conectivity,
As Lal Babu Shaik noted, this does look like the issue described in KB00598 - PI SDK may fail to connect when initialized by an impersonated remote user given that you are explicitly specifying a remote login and password when setting up the linked server. Is the PI SDK version installed on the linked server node or the PI Data Archive 1.3.x?
And as Jeferson Rodriguez noted, if this is a Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, it could be a licensing issue instead.
Looks like we have some duplicate threads
