I would like to know what's the easiest way to remove these ghost tags = PI Tags that are not referenced in AF ?
Could you please elaborate some more on your end goal?
Are you trying to compile a list of tags that are present in the Data Archive but are not part of the PI Point DR in a AF Server database?
Is this an exercise in identifying mis-configured attributes?
When you mention 'remove' - what are your plans with them? Deleting is usually not recommended.
HI Thyagarajan, thanks for your reply.
These orphan tags're resulting from deleting bunch of AF models (trial and error). We want to make sure any obsolete pi tags in our dev are cleaned up nicely. Currently we are exceeding our DEV PI Server license limit.
They are not misconfigured attributes. These are obsolete pi tags.
Yes, we want to permanently remove these PI TAGS + data from our PI Server.
hope this clarify or answer ur questions.
Since this is a test machine and I believe this is a one-off operation, PI Datalink Search and PI Builder Element Attribute Search can be used to manually generate PI Points and compare lists.
You should then be able to delete pi points unmatched points using PI Builder.
Compare using excel or text editor and delete using PI Builder
