No. From what I understand the interface does not communicate with the MDB and will use the .bat file. The ICU does the communication with the MDB and is responsible for syncing the interface .bat with the MDB.
Dan Fishman is correct. The interface never connects to the MDB, only ICU. This is why you don't need to give access to the MDB to the PI Identity to which the service account running the interface is mapped to.
