Indirect referencing is possible with the HabConnect interface. Does anyone know what the format is? Techsupport hasn't figured out how to do it after weeks of "research".
I know this is quite old, but others may have the same question. I just ran across this...
In the query (the fields in the ini file), you can traverse parent-child through the P__ pointers. So in a query for the record ANALOG, you could do something like P__LIMIT_ANALOG>LOWVAL_LIMIT. Would it make sense to do so, IDK, but this is the idea.
I believe indirect pointers work the same way although I haven't done so using the interface. Using c++, have worked through ZBR2 to get at a ND indirect pointer in netmom, That syntax in C++/habconnect API looks like p$nd_zbr2>i$bs_nd, so a guess is the interface might be fine with P__ND_ZBR2>I__BS_ND.
Hope this helps someone in future or gets someone going in right direction. Phil
Please accept our apologies for the late answer.
Does your question refer to the PI Interface for GE HABConnect? I've checked the manual for keywork "indirect" and found it occurs just once in the context of reading status strings of point records. Is this what your question is about? If not can you please clarify what exactly you are asking?
I am usually pretty good with phrasing search queries and to quickly find the information which I am looking for but couldn't find a related case in our Technical Support database. Can you please shoot me a private message with the case reference number?
