    AF Link GenericBadState

    Dino

      Hi,

We've almost the same error code [-19500] posted by Jared Goretzky on 4 oct.2017 how ever he did not clearly explain how he solved this issue.

we also have the message unable to connect Aset server ... :5457. we open that port but still can't connect even with Telnet Client tool.

We've PI server 2017 R2 , AF server and SQLexpress in the same machine running win server 2012 R2 with no service pack.

Does any one know how to solve this problem ?

      Regards,

      Azzedine.

          Hi Azzedine

If you are unable to connect using telnet i would request you to contact network team to check if there is any issue with firewall. Once 5457 port is open and telnet is successful you can run the wizard again to check AF link status.

          Thanks

              Hi Lal Badu,

There's no issue with firewall, TCP ports 5450 and 5457 are correctely declared.

We can't test TCP port 5457 with telnet as long as is not opened by AF Link.

              Reminder of manipulations :

1 - PI and PI AF first install, done without any error. PI AF link running (green) , no migration MDB to AF done.

2 - Prior to importing tags , whe added PI AF Builder and PI System Explorer from PI-AF-Services_2017-R2_ install file.

              3 - Added 4 OPCint interfaces

4 - Imported Digital states from Excel

5 - Imported Tags from Excel

6 - PI AF link fail with no possible connexion to local AF server !!!

Is it possible de uninstall and install PI AF Services at this level ?

              Regards,

              Azzedine.

                  Hello Azzedine,

Is the AF Server in working order? Can you open PI System Explorer and create elements and checked them in?

If you can, the next step I'd recommend taking is to restart the PI AF Link Subsystem via services.msc and consult the PI SDK Logs. There should be meaningful messages in the logs as to why the service can't connect.

You can access the logs from PI SMT > Operations > Message Logs.

                  Hope this helps,

                  Seb

                Hi Seb,

Finally we re-run the PI AF services installation. it works but we still have problems to run PI MDB to AF preparation wizard.

Problem probably related to file directory path in "PiBackup" program or language (French , ie users/utilisateurs).

                Regards,

                Azzedine.
