Since PI AF automatically comes with PI Data Archive, will using AF count against our license count?
Excellent question. If you map a PI Tag to an AF Attribute, this will not count against your license. In fact, you can map an existing PI Tag to as many attributes across multiple AF Databases and Servers as you'd like.
The only operation that will count against your license is when you create a PI Tag through an analysis. To be more specific, this is only when you create a new PI Tag for an analysis. If you use PI Analysis to write to an existing PI Tag, this will not count against your license.
You can have as many AF Servers as you want so it shouldn't count against your license. If I'm misunderstanding your questions, please clarify for me.
Thank you for your help. I guess I should’ve clarified that will adding tags from our archive to AF count against our license count?

Awesome. That answers my question. Thank you so much for your help
Anytime! Happy to help
A minor note: when using 'classic' Notifications, every PI Notification would consume 1 PI Point License. Anything since i think AF2016 does not have any impact.
