I got following error: The specified search source is not in a Ready state (error code 19) : See download for full details.
How to fix the problem?
Can you please check whether data all the data sources have been fully indexed or not. Looks like you are facing issue with below KB article.
KB01401 - Common solutions for PI Web API Indexed Search not crawling
I do not have PI Web API Crawler process in my system.
I installed PI Web API Crawler - it is not installed by default, but still the error message appears and sinusoid tag is not visible
I rebooted the server and now I do not have any errors, but I cannot find sinusoid in PIVision
Can you find another Random Interface tag such as CDT158?
No, I cannot
Request you to login to PI Web API Admin --> https://piwebapiserver/piwebapi/admin and check the databases. Add your PI server if not already added and check if database is indexed else request you to rebuild index. Check for errors in PI Web API admin in event logs if any during indexing.
Please note : Service account used to run PI Web API should have access to PI Data Archive and AF you are trying to access.
Everything seems fine:
How to rebuild index?

When I requested: https://yoourpiwebapiserver/piwebapi/admin
I got following error:
"An exception has occurred. Please contact your PI Web API administrator for help in enabling debug mode."
When I go to https://localhost/piwebapi/assetservers :
I tried to run \WebAPI\OSIsoft.Search.Crawler.exe manually:
Complete url for admin page:
This web page displays admin page and databases index
I rebuild Index, everything seems fine:
, but still I cannot find sinusoid in PI Vision.
I was able to get sinusoid on piwebapi, but not in pivision
What account does your PI Vision app pool identity run under - is it a service account or the default Network Service? If you're using a custom service account does it have permissions to access PI?
I would suggest to configure a service account for PI Web API (with permission to PI Data Archive and PI AF) and map same account in app pool settings and this should fix issues related to PI Vision and PI Web API Access.
I did everything as per the guideline, now I have following error in PI Vision:
Communication Error: An unexpected error has occurred.
When you state that you did everything as per the guideline, have you changed the account under which the PI Vision app pool runs - as in changed it from the account that was being used at the time the PI Vision database was created? If so, this will be the reason for the error, and so you will also need to create a SQL Server login for this new account and alter the account used for accessing the PI Vision database. Instructions for this are found in the documentation here.
No error after update, but I cannot find SINUSOID in PI Vision
Then going back to several earlier comments in this thread, this is most likely a permissions issue for the account that the PI Vision service is running under and you need to make sure that this account has the appropriate permissions. I would highly recommend that you review the security configuration section of the PI Vision Installation and Administration Guide and ensure that you have configured your PI Data Archive security correctly. A correct security configuration should resolve the issue you have reported.
I tried to re-do everything, but I faced with the same issue. Can you check my server if I will privately send you my credentials?
No, unfortunately I'm unable to do that. At this point if you have configured your system security as per the documented recommendations and still can't see your PI tags, then I would suggest that you need to contact Tech Support and open a ticket with them.
