Why won't the ploy function in PI Analytics recognize attributes defined as double data type as valid values? If I type the numbers in the poly function it works fine.

As a workaround you can use the Pow function and then write down the polynomial using multiple Pow functions.
Good question... the example in PSE Help all show the coefficients as 'fixed' values.
Poly(3, 4, 5), Poly('att1', 2, 3).
So, it would seem on the first argument can be an attribute.
