I'm trying to find what tags are being written to through a PI OPC DA Server. Any ideas of any logs / debug / captures that could identify these?
What version of the PI OPC DA Server are you using. I just did a test writing values via the PI OPC Client tool to my server and with full debug logs was able to trace that my sinusoid was updated by the server. You can also configure point level debugging to inspect what values are being sent. Enabling OPC Server trace logs is all discussed in the user manual.
What version of the PI Data Archive are you using? If you are using 2017 or later you can enable a tuning parameter to trace the incoming data. Once you get back I can share more details.
Just short of that. Running 2016 R2 till at least the middle of next year.
Thanks for the answers. They pointed me in the right direction. Here's the link to the section of the users guide I needed:
PI OPC DA Server Debug Config
What I needed was maximum debug and now that I have the trace file I should be able to write Powershell script to pull out a unique list of the tags receiving data.
In addition to Vince's question, is it coming from a specific OPC client? If so, what is it?
It’s actually a third party application making its own clien calls to OPC.
