How do I solve the attached image issue?
Thank you for checking the settings. This error is thrown when the user does not have write settings to the configuration files for pibufss. Just to triple-check, can we make sure that the files inside this directory are not marked as Read-Only? Files like pibufcfg.xml, pibufGUIDs.dat, etc.
Hi Edsoney,I would check that the windows account you are logged into the machine as is part of the local "PI Buffering Administrators" group.
If the windows account that iam logged into the machine is correct as part of this local, what can be the solution?
Hi Vitor, If your user account is in the local group, I would check that that group has proper permission on the buffer configuration files. I believe the default location for these is %programdata%OSIsoft\Buffering. If you look at the security properties for this folder does the group have permissions?
We have this LiveLibrary article that mentions OS permissions and the different requirements.
I add the buffering in PI Buffering Administrators, but the problem continuos.
Hi Edsoney,Thank you for checking the local group. What are the permissions for the C:\ProgramData\OSIsoft\Buffering directory? My settings are in the screenshot below:
Hi Javin Spann.
Thank you for answer my question. My settings are in te screenshot below, but not work.
Thanks for the support. It worked!!!
Awesome!! I'll mark the last response as correct. I am also going to write out the warning message so if someone else has the same issue they can find this thread.
The current user does not have access to write PI buffer settings. These settings will not be changeable.
