Setting up PI OPC DA (read only) interface

Hi,

PI-ICU v1.4.16.79

PI-OPC DA (Read Only) v2.6.15.3

O/S Windows 7

OPC Server Kepware Enterprise V5

Been trying to configure a read only DA Interface using ICU. Followed You Tube guide from OSI Soft.

In "Service Configuration" on the ICU there were two options: Local System and Domain/Username

We would like to use LocalSystem as it will negate the need to set up DCOM (according to guide).

When we select the Read Only interface executable after choosing create from executable, the LocalSystem option is not there.

There is another interface running (an old OPC DA read/write I assume) and this has the LocalSystem option.

The interface refuses to connect to the Kepware server (probably because we have not understood/set up the "log on as" bit properly.

Is the fact that LocalSystem is not an option a function of the OPC DA R/O interface?

If we have to go down the Domain\User then so be it.

Many thanks,

Terry.

PS, as you can probably tell, I am no PI specialist!
