I have a tag in Element #1 that has the product name.
An analysis in another element needs to see this.
So that if this string changes to "Closed", not to do some thing.
What I get is "Unknown Attribute". Is there a way to do this correctly?
You can map input attributes in an analysis by stepping upwards in the hierarchy with "..\" per level. If you want to read an attribute value from the parent element, you can use "..\|Attribute" and if you need it from the grandparent element you would use "..\..|Attribute".
You can also specify the full path from the root level of your AF database by typing '\Element\Child Element|Attribute', where "Element" is a root level element.
I tried this addressing:
I am trying to get data from a sibling element and the tag with in. So using the "..\" to step back out of an element, then declaring the sibling element and the tag I want.
I still get "Unknown Element".
I tried calling OSI, but every one, it seems, is at Pi World.
Julie, I just tried this both with a Stringbuilder attribute and inside an analysis, and it works as expected here.
Perhaps you've encountered a bug? If I force a misspelling inside an analysis expression for the element, I get "Failed to resolve required input" instead of your "Unknown element".
I would encourage you to experiment with this, using the Stringbuilder attribute and the Related Attribute Values dropdown list. You can also bring up something similar in when defining input attributes for the Formula data ref. Try different scenarios - full path, database relative path, etc. and see if anything at all works.
