Can anyone tell me how to find who has modified AF template and the change log too?
Hi Abu Salem,
Using Audit trail Window, you will be able to track the changes made in your AF database. Have you enabled AF Audit trail to view the changes made in your AF database?
Please refer below live library for requirements and other details related to audit trail.
The only way to do this is if you have AF auditing enabled. If you don't there is no way to do this. I would be mindful of enabling AF auditing. It will approximately double the storage space of the SQL DB and the SQL Server will need to have the proper resources (mainly RAM) to handle all of the extra data and operations it needs to perform. The rule of thumb is to follow the hardware sizing spreadsheet and double the recommendations for SQL. AF auditing is mainly used by companies that need to keep track of all changes in AF for legal or procedural reasons. For example, I know most pharmaceutical companies need to have AF auditing enabled.
For situations like this, I think a better approach is to configure a tighter security on the AF Server. That way users that shouldn't be modifying AF objects won't be able to either way. If a change happens that shouldn't have, your list of likely culprits will also be much smaller.
Thank you everyone for your response, really appreciate it! I wish there is an easy message log!
Hello Abu, One option would be to export the AF templates to XML file and compare it with the previous version. This doesn't tell who has changed but you can see all the changes made. If the AF Templates are exported at regular intervals to some version control system then you can track all the changes to the templates over the time.
In your team if you agree that whenever a template change is made then that person need to export the templates and commit to the repository then you can also track who has been making the changes.
