Pi server 2010 sp1 - PitoPi - latest version of PI server. Does pitopi still support the pi server 2010 sp1? Does this still work?
The most recent PI to PI Interface will still be able to support a Data Archive 2010 SP1 as it's source Data Archive Server.
Thank you for the information.
Is that configuration also applicable when 2 PI server are redundant then connecting to PI to PI then to PI Data Archive collective
Something like this screenshot:
I want to clarify something with your diagram before I answer your question. You explicitly say that the destination Data Archives are part of a collective, however you don't specify that for the source Data Archives (the ones that are ver. 2010 SP1). Is this intentional?
The PI to PI interface is perfectly capable of sending data from one collective to another collective (note that you need PI Buffer subsystem to "fan" the data so all destination servers receive that data.) That being said if you have two separate, not-part-of-a-collective source Data Archives, that you are using to send data to this collective then I would recommend a different architecture from what you have above.
On my diagram the sources are only redundant servers (No touch on this servers). It is not even in a collective configuration. Then yes for my new setup i want my destination data archives to be PI Collective.
If pi to pi is only capable for collective to collective only. for my diagram what would you suggest the best setup for this?
The PI to PI interface can send from a standalone server to a collective.
What I'm trying to understand here is what you mean when you say "redundant servers" if you don't mean a PI Data Archive Collective. Are you referring to a Windows Failover cluster? Are you using PI to PI to send data between those two servers to ensure there's the same data on both? What does Redundant server mean in this specific context, as the answer to that question will affect my comments on the architecture.
Yes yes sorry im referring to failover cluster. the sources PI server are in Failover cluster then going to PI Collective DA.
Yes, you'l be able to support that as long as the Source PI Server Failover tab is properly configured for the Pi to Pi interface.
Still 2 PI Interface node will be setup here, right? Like my diagram above.
Correct, you can still set up two PI to PI interfaces so that they can be used in fail-over.
