I'm attempting to calculate the equivalent operating hours of a piece of equipment. In this example, this piece of equipment is considered to be running a 1:1 run hours when the pressure is 420 degrees and the hours 0:1 when the pressure is 400 or lower.

I thought to use the Curve function which returns the multiplier I'm looking for but how do I use with what function to achieve the run hours I need? For example, if the equipment was running at 410 degrees for 30 minutes and for the next 30 minutes it was running at 390 degrees then my equivalent operating hours would be 15 minutes.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Does this describe your run time accurately?

If degrees < 400 then 0

else if degrees >= 420 then 1:1

else (area between 400 and 420)

straight line diagonal between 400 and 420 to give a ratio of run time

If that is the case, try the following:

If 'Temp' <= 400 then 0

else if 'Temp' >= 420 then 1

else curve('Temp', (400,0) (420,1))

Then multiply the returned factor by the number of elapsed minutes.
