Could someone advise how to create a tag that totalizes all product names or comments of the day please? Basically is it possible to totalize a string point type tag?
I'll try to provide a potential solution, but you may have to provide an example of what you are trying to do if this doesn't suit your needs.
Let's assume the product produced are: apples, oranges, bananas, oranges (in that order).
Set up an analysis that triggers on a change in the tag; let's assume the attribute is 'Product List' and the data gets 'cleared' daily at 7:00 AM.
If hour('*') >= 7 and prevevent('summary','*') < 't+7h' then 'product tag'else concat('summary tag',",",'product tag')And then map the output to the 'summary tag'.
This has NOT been tested, but in theory, I think it will work.
That looks great, and that's exactly what I'm trying to do thanks, but looks like the concat function on AF is used for concatenating values of different tags. What I need is concatenating all values of 1 day from the same tag. So list all values of a tag over a day.
Concat can be used to concatenate whatever.
From my example (copying a portion)
If hour('*') >= 7 and prevevent('summary','*') < 't+7h' then 'product tag'else concat('summary tag',",",'product tag')
'product tag' is the tag with the different values; 'summary tag' is the list of all of the values 'product tag' has had over the day.
So, if the product tag showed cereal, examples of production during a single day are: raisin bran, corn flakes and crisped rice.
Product tag time and values:
11-Sep-2019 7:30 Raisin Bran
11-Sep-2019 11:00 Corn Flakes
11-Sep-2019 12:00 Crisped Rice
11-Sep-2019 13:50 Corn Flakes
The summary tag over the day would be:
Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes
Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes, Crisped Rice
Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes, Crisped Rice, Corn Flakes
Hi Tim, Thank you for this. What I need is the summary tag. Could you let me have the configuration of that tag please? So as I understand that tag summarizes all products that ran within the last 24 hour, as 1 output value. ? Many thanks!
If your summary tag holds a list of products created, then it should be a string tag with archiving.I'm not sure what value there is in step.. or not; something to look into.
Are you looking to create tags that count the number of product names/comments that happen in one day for each type of product name/comment? If so you can create a totalizer tag that can count the events equal to a value over a fixed time period.
In the totalizer tag Name & Type tab for one product count you'd configure the type to look like this:
And in the Results tab you'd configure it to look like this:
This configuration will count the number of times the source tag is equal to "Product" over 24 hours starting at midnight. It will also write interim results for the current day every time there is a new value of "Product" written to the source tag.
Hi Ian, almost .. I am not trying to count the events, I am trying to display all product names in 1 cell in excel that have been run on the machine. As I have a tag that outputs the name of the product every time there is a change over on the machine, I thought I could just create a totalizer of this tag, so when I do a compressed data function on it in excel I could just get all product names run on that day in 1 cell. I'm trying different ways of configuring the tag and none of them seems to work.
