When using the Hardware System Sizing Tool for the Archive server it provides an estimate for the size needed for online archives. What is the rule of thumb for calculating the back up storage size? Or does the tool include both in it's total?
The backup is a shadow copy of the archives, so they will take up the same size (but placed on a differentstorage drive).
Thanks for the reply. Does the Hardware sizing tool row 18 “Required Online Storage” account for the backups storage space as well or this is just the archive Storage and should be doubled?

Online storage refers to registered archives. While estimating backup size would suggest Full backup size + incremental backup size (atleast 3-6 months) depending your requirement. e.g. If your archive size grows 1 GB per day and already has 100 GB registered archives then full backup today =101 GB + other PI server files(configuration etc).
No, it does not account for backup space required.
