I am trying to create an element relative ProcessBook display that uses a mixture of display elements (values, trends, multistate symbols). All of the data in the display is ultimately derived from a template that uses a table.
The values are mostly character entries, the multistate symbol and trend entries should get their tag name from the AF table where the tag name is defined in the format \\server\tag.
The attributes load from the table to the element correctly. Is there any way to get ProcessBook to convert these text entries to tag names?
If you use VBA, you can hook the ContextHandler.ContextChanged event and then use symbol.SetTagName to set the symbol to use the appropriate pi tag for the context. There's sample code for ContextHandler.ContextChanged running around on the forums here if you search for it I think.
