I have been referencing PI tags in VBA processbook for sometime and I have many cases where it has been valuable to do so. Is it also possible to reference AF attributes in the same manner? I need to obtain the AF attribute value. In some cases the AF attribute is a PI point and I need to query for values and do other functions that are possible with Pi Tags.
If this is possible, does it require any additional configuration on a users computer? Is there any SDK or some set up that is specific to make this work? I have many machines to access these processbook displays and wish to keep the configuration and installation of addiitonal components to aminimum.
Thank you in advance for your help and considerations in this matter.
If you search for this there are a couple of relevant threads. This one for instance, talks about a ProcessBook .NET add-in called "AF SDK Wrapper for PI ProcessBook": vcampus.osisoft.com/.../199.aspx
And in this thread I added some example code once to create invisible PI and AF data symbols, which then uses ProcessBook's normal data update method to get new values: vcampus.osisoft.com/.../13926.aspx
