In hot fail over, two OPC servers receive data from one data source. One OPC server sends a bad value to PI, such as 1, bad, 2. The other OPC server sends a good value to PI, such as 1, 2, 3. Will PI eventually take a good value of 123?
Only one data source can be active at one time. Therefore, whichever OPC server was active at the time, that data will be stored.
In addition, in your example, there's no way to know if 1, bad, 3 are correct or if 1, 2, 3 are correct. It's possible that 1, 2, 3 are wrong.
