Time being I can see ACE Server is the only application using PI Module database. Is anyone aware of any upgrade or architecture change plans for ACE to move it to PI AF?
You may have heard of the Abacus project that's in progress right now. The plan is for ACE to migrate over to Abacus sometime in the future, which would give it native AF support.
Thanks for your response. I will attend the webniar to learn more about it.
In the meantime (perhaps to prepare for the upcoming webinar), you may want to watch this video/demo or review the slides from the following UC 2013 presentation about Project Abacus:
Easy As..3.14159265 - Next Generation Calculation Engine
Many thanks Marcos and Jay. looking forward towards the webinar.
PI Manual Logger and the majority of the PI Interfaces (UniInt) are still MDB based too.
Hi Steve, Do you have Roadmap for Abacus project ?
I believe that the best way to learn about the roadmap and the features of Abacus is to watch our exclusive webinar about this product which will take place on May 15th. Below is its abstract:
“OSIsoft presents another webinar in its series of vCampus-exclusive "Builders' Café" webinars!
We provided an early view of the next generation calculation engine, codename project Abacus, during a vCampus Live! 2012 hands-on lab. In this webinar, we will provide an update and demonstration of the current state of the software similar to what was shown during the OSIsoft 2013 Users Conference.
We will also discuss the plan for a private Community Technology Preview (CTP) program and how you can participate.
This webinar will familiarize the audience with the scope of Abacus as it will go into its initial release.”
