          Hello Wolfgang,

Could you please provide some more details about what exactly you want to do?

Are you using the Event Frames Generator or a custom application using AF SDK? To which trigger are you refering?

And finally, if I understand well do you want this information to be audited with the PI Server audit?

A Custom AF SDK application, but also changes through System explorer, other AFSDK Applications or Excel should be covered

When you use eventframes for logging downtimes, and the Control room staff adds Information it is necessary to have a log, that which Attributes have been changed by which User to have the Full History (by the Way this World be also nice for the whole AF

                          Hello Wolfgang,

We are talking about two separate issues:

                          - Auditing the program responsible for generating event frames.

In your case, you are using a custom solution which you should have full control of it.

                           - Auditing the event frames and its templates configuration on PI System Explorer.

In our most recent release of AF (2.5), it is possible to record changes to non-data reference attribute values, including who, when and new value. This information is stored in tables of the PIFD database of your SQL Server.  When AF is installed, the audit feature is not enabled.  It can be enabled and managed with AFDIAG.EXE.  Currently, there is no mechanism to access the audit.

However, we are completely changing the audit trail implementation in AF 2.6. We will be ripping out the current solution, and instead, relying upon the Change Data Capture functionality built into some editions of SQL Server. We are still investigating the possibility of including an audit trail viewer client tool in AF 2.6, based on the Change Data Capture functionality.

With that said, if you want to develop a customer application, we recommend waiting for the AF 2.6, since we might have a client tool with this feature, but if not, you can build a custom solution against the SQL Server Change Data Capture functionality.
