Any tool for Electronic Log Book to use with OSISOFT?
@Jana: Could you describe a bit more what do you define as an electronic log book? Is it intended for logging comments from operations or to log manual values coming from a laboratory or observations made by operators?
I've heard of an electronic logbook application from St. James Software, who is one of our ISV partners. You might want to check out their web site and contact them directly for more info -
@Jana. We use the Livepoint Product from Mirabo systems to provide this facilty for many of our customers. This provides LogBook capabilities to OSISoft PI-Tags, PI-Batch and PI-EventFrames with the additional value of comprehensive visualization and reporting capabilities. Thanks everyone. Mathew, I am referring to tools similar to Opralog, are there any case studies related to implementation details around such products by other OSISoft clients? also, any resources about feasibility studies/best practices for choosing such logbook applications might be helpful...Thanks

We faced a similar problem across a number of our operations (we have a few, 20 or so). PIML never met our requirements. We need something that was broader; manual data entry, comments of various types, events (think EF), shift instructions, ... On a whim I wrote a solution using Microsoft LightSwitch. I've pretty impressed with how successful this has been; particularly the comments.
I plan to write a blog post on integrating LS with AF; hopefully not in the too distant future.
