Multiple values from loggers contained in 1 tag??

    Darren.Metcalfe

      Hi

I have a query and wondered if it can be solved in a real simple manner. For an Energy project I am working on I have created 35 tags although this will increase to thousands in the near future. I would like the combined values of all 35 tags provided in one single tag. My idea when using Excel PI-SMT add in would be to amend the "instrument tag" field with a formula to add all the instrument tags. Alternatively a performance equation would work but this would not be practical when moving to a large number of tags.

I'm new to this so I hope this makes sense, any help / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

          Hi Darren,

Could you explain a bit more on how you want to combine? Do you just want to combine all the stored time/value pairs of the tags onto one tag to store them in one tag, do you want to sum the values, do you want to take any value of a tag at a timestamp?

Maybe a bit more elaborate description would help. The more you share at vCampus, the more value it can give you!

              Hi Roger

Sorry for being a bit vague, the requirement is to have one tag with the total value of the stored value of (currently) 35 tags.

For example; Below displays only a small amount  information regarding existing tags. I would like one tag with combined value. I can do this with a performance equation but the requirment could eventually need the combined value for tens of thousands of tags which rules out a PE..
