We have a good number of AF displays which are needed to be migrated from our dev environment to test environment.
For every AF symbol in a display , a GUID is generated and hardcoded in the display file. This GUID is same as the Unique ID of the element which was dragged and dropped in the display.
The problem which I'm facing with migration is :
Every New Database generates new Unique IDs for all the elements , which means the GUIDs hardcoded in the display files are no longer valid for the element added to the display.
Hence , I'm not able to use the 'Update Symbols' functionality of the latest PI ProcessBook.
All the symbols disappear if I use this Update Symbols functionality.
[GUID]*(Server Name) ---> This is the manner in which GUIDs are hardcoded in the display
I'm looking for a solution through which I can replace the existing GUIDs in the display with the latest GUIDs ( Unique IDs) as per the new database in the new environment.
If anyone can suggest a better migration technique using which I can retain the unique IDs of all the elements , that will be great.
