I am newbie on PI OPC.
I have 2 Tags
A : a Boolean
B : a Float
I would like to know if it is possible to tune the integration into PI of B depending on A :
If A is True, send the values A and B.
If A is False, do not send.
As far as I know, you cannot apply this type of logic to the PI OPC Interface. Nevertheless, suppose that you have two tags A and B that receives data through the PI OPC Interface. You can create a tag C using PI Asset Based Analytics or PI Performance Equation in order to receive the values according to a certain logic which include conditions. Would this work for you?
Hi Marcos & thank you for your reply.
I was trying to find out another solution to avoid adding tags (there are many functionalities to be made this way).
I was reading the PIOPCInt.docx and have a question :
"Also, a plug-in DLL that does post-processing of data before the data is sent to the PI Server may require that a set of data be processed as a complete set so all the tags that make up that set must be in the same group."
Does it mean it is possible add some post-processing ou pre-processing? That would be quite interesting...
I have also tried within PI OPC configuration on PIPoints (combining location3, location4 and ExDesc but no solution)
I have taken a look at the documentation of the PI OPCint plugins available under Program Files (x86)\PIPC\Interfaces\OPCInt\Plug-Ins\Documentation folder and I couldn’t find any plugin that you could use the PI Performance Equation syntax.
You might find a solution that you won’t require creating a new PI Point/Attribute (probably with custom development) but my opinion is that after taking in consideration the effort required for achieving your goal, you will probably choose my suggestion from my previous post.
Hope it helps!
