Field Service Engineer
Hello Aarti and Anubhav,
My name is Doug Fisher and I joined OSIsoft two months ago as a CoE engineer. This class is part of my on-boarding and I look forward to working with you.
I first started using DataLink in 2004 and have experience with the versions with supported the Module Database. I am new to AF so I look forward to learning how DataLink will work with AF and Event Frames.
Welcome to OSI and to the online class ! I hope this class helps you get comfortable with PI Datalink. Since not much has changed in Datalink, functionality wise, (apart from Element Relative reports and support for AF objects) you should find the class pretty straight forward. If you have any questions, I welcome you to post your questions here on the forum.
Have fun with the class !
Hello -> I have a question about the video "Build a Daily Report in PI DataLink ". In the video, the person building the report had to manually create the data arrays for his drop down lists which presented the different AF areas and equipment ID's to the user. Is there a way to automate the creation of these lists, to prevent someone from having to manually update the AF structure in both PI and the Excel report? In the past, I was able to use SDK functions to interact with the Module DB in Excel; I am guessing there are similar options available today but I am not sure where to find the details.
Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated!
Hi Aarti and Anubhav
I am Jerry Weber, a new COE engineer enrolled in the class. I recently completed the PB book class a couple weeks ago and am moving on to datalink. So far, the course material has provided some excellent insight and I plan to complete the lectures by the end of the week. Would you like the exercises emailed to you?
Thanks for allowing me to take the class.
Welcome to the class! Good to know that you're finding the course material for the PI DataLink I course useful. Yes, you could email your exercises to Anubhav and me, and we would evaluate those and revert with our feedback by next week.
Hope that works, and enjoy the class!
