Is it possible to interact with processbook through COM objects as I can do it with ie. Excel or Word?
Yes, that's possible - but you'll need to consider where you want to execute your code from.
At the moment I'm developing a docked window add-in for ProcessBook, and then I have full access to the application object, including displays and symbols. You should find documentation in ProcBook -> Help, in the PI ProcessBook Programmer's Reference Guide.
Most likely yes, but what do you want to do?
Like excell, insert values from/extract values to other programs, which interacts with the objects in processbook.
And also avoid making all the stuff in VBA and make it in C# instead.
OK, thanks a lot for you information
Np. There are some resources to get you started, but I don't know where they are now that vCampus has become PI DevClub.
The learning labs from previous vCampus Live conferences contains some PI Client development/scripting lessons with code examples. There's at least one called ".NET add-in to Introduce Docking Windows" and another called ".NET add-in to Implement a Custom Dataset" from 2009, a "PI Client Scripting - What Have You Done for Me Lately" from 2011 and a "Scripting PI ProcessBook to Improve Display Management" from 2012. In addition there should be some PI ProcessBook AddIn Templates for Visual Studio available for download on techsupport. Try searching for them, I believe they are prefixed with "AddInPB_"
The resources you are referring to can be found at Technical Support Download Center. E.g. the lab material from vCampus Live! events are in category "Extras"
