I cannot get the second level of AF attribute value through Excel PI Datalink but it is okay for the first level of element's attribute value as shown below.
As documented in case 602421, the cause of the problem is known issue 107611. It was fixed by rebuilding the cache via the stored procedure:
EXEC [dbo].[usp_AFElementCache_refresh] @debugprint = 1;
I have tried to reproduce your issue but I did not see any error. I am able to get the child element attribute in the Excel sheet.
Can you try to double check again by retrieving the attribute again?I believe it might be due to temporary connection issue from your client machine to the AF Server. Also check on the security of the child element and make sure that the user that you are using to connect to AF Server has read permission.
I would suggest you to create a technical support case to allow us to check on your issue via remote session if the issue persists.
Hi Raymond, what's the version of PI DataLink, Excel, and PI AF you are using? I couldn't reproduce the behaviour in PI DataLink 2014 with AF 2014 R2.
However, it is possible to get "Attribute not found" returned when the PI DataLink user doesn't have read access to that element (FM), as I have just tested.
I have granted everyone with read and write to both level already...
PI DataLink : 2014 version 5.1.0
PI AF: 2014 R2
A technical support case 602421 is also created for investigation.
