i have also enrolled myself for the same course but the commencement of the course is in the march end.
glad to know about your proposal to have a open discussion lobby for the same course...
is there any possibility to find out who the facilitator is, for all these online courses.
thank you and regards
I'm glad to hear that you are taking this course in a few months. I hope you enjoy it! Also, please feel free to get involved in the community to ask questions or start learning if you want to begin early.
Similar to our in person classes that are taught by assorted engineers from our Field Service department, the online courses are assigned to various Field Service Engineer to facilitate. As we want to ensure that the facilitator is available throughout the duration of the course, we generally do not assign someone to facilitate until a few weeks before the session's start date. Thus, there is currently no facilitator assigned to the course you're enrolled in starting at the end of March. However, the facilitator will reach out to you via e-mail prior to the start of the course as well as be involved on the course's community page.
With regards to OSIsoft's online courses as a whole, I am currently responsible for their development and expansion going forward. Thus, if you have any questions or feedback regarding any of our online courses, please feel free to reach out to me directly. However during the course if you have questions regarding any of the technical content of the course, I would recommend asking the facilitator or posing the question to the community for a more expedited response.
Thank you for signing up for this course in March! I really do hope you enjoy it and get a lot out of it.
As we approach the end of week 1, I want you all to start thinking about week 2. By the beginning of next week, you should be finishing up the video lectures and starting to work on the course exercises. There are five total to help reinforce the concepts you learned in the course videos.
Try thinking about the processes and PI AF model at your own facility and utilize the skills taught in the video lectures to complete the exercises while accomplishing something beneficial to your current role.
Then, towards the end of next week, you should also start thinking about your final project. If you have any questions about the exercises or your final project, please post them on the community!
Also, please make sure to take a few minutes and introduce yourselves on this thread, so myself and your fellow learners can get to know you better.
Thanks again, and I hope you continue enjoying the class!
Is it too late to join the class? I just found it.
Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, it is too late to register for the class that started earlier this week. There is another session scheduled to start on March 30th if you would like to register for that, as well as a few other sessions throughout the rest of the year. Also you can check out the schedule for all of our online courses on our Learning site to see if there is another upcoming course that interests you.
That being said, all of the material for the course (video lectures, exercises, etc) is available online. There are no "live lectures" as we are trying to make the online courses fit to your schedule! Thus, if you would like to start watching the video lectures and trying out the course exercises, you can do so here on the community. Also, I highly recommend this group of videos on our YouTube channel - Asset-Based Analytics with PI AF (Asset Framework) for a quicker look at AF Analyses.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Hopefully I'll see you in a future online course!
Thanks for the reply. I will look at the videos. In the future where can I find information about upcoming classes?

You can see the schedule for all upcoming classes on our Learning site - click here for the schedule for all online courses. You can also look at the schedule for our in-person courses at this site as well if you select a country under the 'Schedules & Registration' link or select a course from the course catalog.
We currently have 6 online courses, listed below, which you can read more about on the Master PI space here on the community or from our Learning site. If you select each course individually below, you will be taken to the overview for that course.
I hope this helps!
Is there any PI AF server access that can be provided to us to work upon for this course.
Unfortunately we do not have an AF Server that we can provide you access to for the course. We have some sample AF databases available that you can import into your AF Server if you would like to work with sample data instead of your own production data. However, as denoted under the course prerequisites, you must have access to your own PI Asset Framework 2014 with PI Analysis Service, access to an AF database, as well as access to a PI Data Archive with permission to create tags.
Please note that if you are a member of our PI Developers Club, you have access to our Virtual Learning Environment (see Q9 for more details). Alternatively, you can purchase a subscription to the VLE from our Learning site that you can use, however a subscription is not included with the online courses.
Some of you have questions about how to submit final projects for the current Configuring Calculations with PI AF online course. To submit your final project, you can do one of the following three things:
- Take screenshots of the PI AF calculations (such as Expressions, Rollup calculations, PI event frames, or PI notifications) you have configured, provide a summary/short write up of your project, and submit everything as a Word document.
- Take screenshots of the PI AF calculations (such as Expressions, Rollup calculations, PI event frames, or PI notifications) you have configured, provide a summary/short write up of your project, and submit everything as a PowerPoint presentation.
- Take screenshots of the PI AF calculations (such as Expressions, Rollup calculations, PI event frames, or PI notifications) you have configured and provide a summary/short write up of your project directly in an email.
We hope that helps! If you have any other questions about final project or its submission, please post them on the community.
