PI OPC Interface installation.challenge is Cant connect to OPC server, going into slow cycle wait.
Have you checked DCOM configuration and permissions? Even if you are running the interface on the OPC server node, your operating system maybe locked down or hardened somewhat. Generalized guidelines for checking/setting DCOM settings can be found in the OPC interface documentation. An additional resource may be to check documentation for your specific OPC server - the maker of your OPC server may have additional requirements documented or specific instructions related to their product.
Another test to try would be to use the OPC Client tool to see if you are able to connect to the OPC Server from the same interface node; do run the OPC client tool under the same account as the OPC interface service's logon account so we can make sure that the service account has permission to access the OPC server.
I am facing same issue but, it was working fine earlier but after I created a bunch of tags in PI server. An the same time I am getting the error " Can't connect to OPC server, going into slow cycle wait.
I check with OPC client tools also, but there also I m not able to connect.
Somehow I managed to solve this issue. Actually problem was at OPC SCADA server side security issue.
Thanks for your replies.
