Handling Multiple Languages - Looking for Best Practices

We have facilities in numerous countries around the world where the locals could speak English, French, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese, and others. Facilities had addressed multiple languages in various ways. We have tried:

  1. PI Descriptions and UOMs in local language… This makes helping people in a different part of the world difficult.
  2. PI Descriptions and UOMS in English… This makes it difficult for people at the facility not fluent in English
  3. PI Descriptions and UOMs in local language appended with English… This is time consuming and makes for very long descriptions and uoms on ProcessBook displays and datalink.

None of these solutions is very satisfying… Has anyone else used an option above or something else that was very successful around the globe?
