Hi All,

I have an Abacus calculation with several steps. One of the steps gets a time period by subtracting one time from another. What I need is the total number of minutes in that period. I really, *really*, ** really** don't want to have to do

**Minute(period) + Hour(period)*60 + Yearday(period)*1440**but I suppose I might have to! Is there a more elegant way?

Edit: Actually, having tried doing what I really don't want to do, I find that also does not work very well! I get the error * Cannot convert 00:00:00 to local time*. Of course under normal processing, my particular calculation will end up with a time period of zero length, so normally it will be 00:00:00.

Hi Alistair,

If period is in the form of hh:mm:ss.xxx, have you tried doing Int(period) / 60? Int(period) will give you the total number of seconds for the period.
