PI Web API search for event frames on attributes

I am doing a HTML5/JavaScript web application using Kendo UI Grid control where I show event frames in the grid. The Kendo UI Grid supports OData out-of-the-box, but that I can not use since PI OData might never get out of CTP and might be discontinued.

My requirements are:

  1. Serverside filtering on multiple columns/attributes
  2. Serverside sorting on multiple columns/attributes
  3. Serverside paging

Now I am using PI Web API with clientside filtering on columns/attributes, as PI Web API, as far as I can see, doesn't support searching/queries on attributes. But, loading 10.000+ event frames in to the web client is not an option.

So what will the best approach be to support searching on attributes?

  1. Wait on the announcement that PI OData is released soon?
  2. Wait on PI Web API to support searching for event frames on attributes?
  3. Write my own OData or REST endpoint supporting PI security based on?
    1. AF SDK?
    2. PI OLE DB?

I really need that OData

Best regards
