What is the difference when pulling data from the piinterp2 vs. piavg tables when pulling average data over time?
The piinterp2 table returns interpolated data at specific time, while the piavg table returns a time-weighted or event-weighted average for a time period. At a specific timestamp, piinterp2 will give you the time-weighted interpolated value between the two compressed value before and after the specific time (if a value doesn't exist at the exact timestamp); on the other hand, piavg returns an average over the time period (instead of at specific timestamp).
If your tag is recording average data, the difference between the two depends on whether you want to get the average data at a specific time (use piinterp2), or the "average" of the average data over a time period (use piavg - an aggregate table).
