Is it possible to generate event frames (with EF Generator Interface) triggered by "Unit Down" or other bad data in the Active Point?
How to configure the Active Point?
We are using EF gen 220.127.116.119 with AF 2.5
Are you referring to the "Unit Down" system digital state error? In other words, are you referring to the builtin PI Server bad value states?
You can use EF Generator to create event frames based on bad data, but you would have to explicitly add each bad data state to the active tag's digital state set (assuming the active tag is digital), and the interface would have to explicitly write "Unit Down" to the tag. PI Analysis Service is a better fit for this use case. You can use BadVal(TagVal('TagName','*') = 1 as the event frame trigger to catch all bad values.
What data type is your Active Point using (string, digital, others)? Do you want an event frame generated when the tag value goes from anything to "Unit Down", and close the event frame when the tag value leaves the "Unit Down" state?
FYI, I have moved this discussion to All Things PI > Other Products for continued discussion.
My Active point is a digital state with 4 states (Run, Stop, Pause, Emergency) , and I would generate the event frame when the tag value goes from anything to "Unit Down", and close the event frame when the tag value leaves the "Unit Down" state.
I'm trying to set the "zero state" to "Unit Down" or "213" (system digital state for unit down) but it doesnt' work.
Yes, "Unit Down" system digital state. But the interface (OPC) can write only 4 states (Run, Stop, Pause, Emergency).
I think we should upgrade to AF 4.6 to use Analysis Service.
