DCOM configuration is done as per the attached document on both opc server and client machine.
any one have experience in integrating with FASTTOOLS SCADA system
In addition to what Barry said...
Advise errors indicate that the interface machine cannot authenticate the account associated with the OPC server. Or the account does not have permissions to use the interface machine.
With OPC, the OPC Server calls back into the OPC Interface and must authenticate itself with the Windows machine that the interface is running on. If that authentication fails for any reason, ADVISE errors will be raised back to the interface.
Advise errors can also occur if network problems prevent the OPC server from establishing an IP connection to the interface node. This may occur if there is a firewall between the OPC server and client or if there is a name resolution error, as Barry mentioned.
Bottom line: the OPC Server cannot establish a connection back to the OPC Interface.
Here is a simple test you can perform:
1) log on to the OPC Server machine using the same credentials used to run the OPC Server
2) perform a start->run
3) type \\interfaceMachineName and hit enter
If you get prompted for credentials or it fails, then that confirms your problem. Fix that issue and your OPC problem will be fixed also.
For these errors, it is usually related to DNS issues. Please check the following:
1) can ping OPC server from client via IP and network node name
2) can ping OPC client from server via IP and network node name
3) ensure no NAT'ing (network address translation) is occurring. Pinging by network node name should return the original IP.
We've also opened up Case # 632808 so feel free to reach out to TechSupport if you are still experiencing an issue. I will also move this post to All Things PI to bring greater visibility to our Technical Support engineers.
Thanks for your reply .As per the below architecture ,PI OPC Interface Instance 2 is configured to collect the data from SCADA OPC Server and we are getting advise return error 80070776.
if I uninstall Yokogawa Vnet driver from Interface Machine ,PI OPC interface started collecting the data from SCADA OPC. we understand that Vnet driver is causing this issue.
I'm getting advice returns error 80070532, while trying to coonect to OPC error using PI OPC client.
What is the reason and How do i rectify this?
Can you please not branch your replies pertaining toError in PI OPC Client
Did you follow Femi Adedimeji's suggestions? - Re: Error in PI OPC Client
Yes i have checked... .password have not expired as admin password is set by me.
to be double check, i also followed his procedure.
The OPC server which i was mentioning was connected to Pi from Last year. Data was getting archived as well. Which shows DCOM settings is working fine.
Kindly provide insights how to solve this issue
