Just so our friends in the Java world don't feel left out:
This is a CTP client of the IPIClientServices interface. It is a little less involved than the WinForms sample. It uses SWT + Axis, so some assembly of your environment may be required.

Great! Yes, it is very basic -- it was whipped up fast to show that it works. In the course of writing it I found it looked pretty much like the .NET stuff as far as the web service stuff goes, so there wasn't a lot of point in building more.
Are there any Java issues you want addressed in the web service?
It works ! ( In my Eclipse.Ganymede + SWT + Axis + xxx )
"some assembly of your environment may be required"
Very true, and some project references turn out to be unnecessary, afterwards.
(Rather remove the ECLIPSE_HOME stuff, than try to resolve it ;)
Very basic, but it works: I see cdt158 via 74.217.101.211/.../ClientServices.svc
(and localhost is a valid PI server, very nice ;)
