PI Datalink, PIAdvCalcVal function returns "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index". I've never seen this one before. Any ideas?
Could you share a bit more of what you are doing? Which parameters have you passed to the PIAdvCalcVal function?
A print of you screen might be helpful.
It's nothing complicated. I'm getting the output below in C1. You can see the function in the function box. Starting date, ending date, and tagname are in A1-A3. I haven't been able find anything on this error.
I am guessing "dixon" is the name of your pi server, right?
On cell B2, do you have another Datalink function, which is working allright?
Yes, it's dixon. B2 is just the current value of the tag in A3.
Is this issue occurring just for the one tag, or for every tag?
Is there some kind of strange formatting within your referenced cells, A1-A3?
Let's double check the tagname for any typos as well
If you close & reopen Excel - does it persist?
Perhaps a repair of the DataLink installation would be useful
Thanks for your input. There's no oddball formatting going on in A1:A3. All the functions reference the tagname in A3. The only function that seems to work is the current value function. PIArcVal, PIAdvCalcVal, and PITimeFilterVal all return the same message. It's even there when I open and close the sheet. I've got some sheets that are known good (and with different tags) and they do the same thing also.
I'm pretty sure a repair/reinstallation is where I'm headed.
Could you post a print of the current value as you did for the PIAdvCalc?
Just as a last hint before you go for the reinstallation.
was this resolved? I am seeing the same error in 2017 Datalink on several machines.
I was having the same issue. By re-installing PI -Datalink and restarting Excel it worked for me.
